Primary 4 Visit Mount Stewart

On Friday 24th November the Primary Four classes went to Mount Stewart where they travelled back in time to the 1950’s and saw a glimpse of how Christmas was celebrated back then.  We are doing the Topic of Celebrations in our WAU so it was lovely to be able to take part in their estate party.  The children were able to make decorations and Christmas cards, Nanny Crowe then showed us how Lady Rose and Elizabeth spend Christmas Eve and had a look at some of their toys.  Mr Reid and Mrs Cranberry showed us how to make a Christmas cake and the adults even got ‘hands on’ by making a Pomander.  Finally, Mrs Tick and Mrs Tock added to the festivities by leading us in a carol service around the Christmas tree.  A very enjoyable trip for us all to get us in the festive spirit.  A special word of thanks to our parent helpers Mrs Mc Coy and Mrs Dowling for joining us on the day.
